The Morel Derfler Gallery was founded in 1993 in the Musrara School. The gallery exhibits works by internationally renowned Israeli and foreign photographers, and by promising young artists (some of which are the Musrara graduates). The gallery is also a learning space for students, engaging them in the ongoing discourse of the exhibitions and exposing them to different genres and techniques in various forms of media.

The exhibitions are curated by the school faculty and external professionals who view the local photography from different perspectives. Once a year, the gallery holds a group exhibition which pays tribute to the works of Morel Derfler, an artist and member of the school faculty who was killed in a terrorist attack in 2001.
