At the exhibition opening, artist and tattoo artist Nili Ehrman will tattoo protest designs created especially for this evening.

Disobedience, rebellion, uprising, stagnation, striving for change, veto, refusal, delay, all are words related to resistance and taking a stand. Some of them are treated by the artists exhibited in the group exhibition presenting artistic aspects of private and public protest through the concept of resistance.

The social protest in Israel, triggered in Wadi Salib events (1959) and followed in the Musrara neighborhood in the 1970s with the rise of the Black Panther movement, will be present in the exhibition alongside metaphoric aspects from other worlds. The participating artists created new works by making use of publicly available archives, including the Musrara Archive. The neighborhood archive was initiated by the Musrara school in order to document the neighborhood stories. The archive serves as a historical source and as a space for artistic-research dialogue for students and artists. The archive is available online at
